Buzzytown.in, Buzzytown ("we" and "us") are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

Information that you provide by filling in forms on our site buzzytown.in (our site) and also various Buzzytown whatsapp and Facebook communities. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our site, while joining our whatsapp networks and groups and while filling any forms (including Google forms) to complete your profile, subscribe to our services, posting material, information on our platforms and groups or while requesting further services.

We may also ask you for information when you enter a competition or promotion sponsored by us, and when you report a problem with our site or when you contact us.

Our site will use the postcode that you provide to us at the time of registration to record your given location which is held privately. Your Buzzytown profile (name and biography if added) can be seen by people viewing the website. It may also be seen by those who are part of Buzzytown whatsapp groups that you choose to join, especially if they are already in other common groups with you or if they already have your information stored in their devices.

Making your profile private on the website will hide your image from any other users. Your name may appear as your first name and the first letter of your last name along with the name of your building. Your contact information is not made available to the public but may be shared with a charity/community/ student group leader who is running a volunteer event or activity for our community.

Sometimes people unknowingly share sensitive information as ‘special category data’, which requires additional protection e.g. information relating to health, ethnic origin and religious beliefs. We will not ask you to provide any special category data to us when you register with our site and we strongly urge you to not share such information with anyone.

If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

We may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.

Details of transactions you carry out through our site and of the fulfilment of your orders.

Details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, site browsing patterns, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is to predict your preferences and to show you information that is most likely to be of interest to you, or required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

Where we store your personal data

The Buzzytown website is stored in our website server which is hosted on Shopify as a CMS. We will occasionally process your data outside of this (for example when using certain third party services such as Mailchimp) but will only do so if appropriate safeguards are in place.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Any personal information that you include in your profile may be available to other users of our site. A message sent via the private message function will be shared with the recipient of that message but not be readily available to any other users.

Making your profile private will hide your image and biography from any other users. Your name will appear as your first name and the first letter of your last name. We do not offer this function at the moment, but this is applicable for whenever the function is launched.

By providing us with your personal information, including any special category data you choose to share with us, you consent to our processing of your personal information for the purposes of providing the services on our site.

To provide you with the main services on our site, for administration and accounting and to ensure that the content and services that we offer are tailored to your needs and interests.

To ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.

To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you.

To carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us.

To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so.
